Call for Nominations: 2026 RMD Awards

Each year, the Research Methods Division (RMD) of the Academy of Management invites nominations for its annual awards recognizing outstanding contributions to research methodology. For the current award cycle, nominations must be received by March 27. 

Nominations are invited for the following three RMD awards.

• Sage Publications/RMD Distinguished Career Award: This award recognizes distinguished scholars who have made sustained and significant contributions to the advancement of research methodology in organizational research. Nominees who are not selected in a given year remain eligible for consideration for the two subsequent years without resubmission. Accordingly, nominees from 2024 and 2025 who did not receive the award will be considered in the current cycle. After this three-year period, individuals remain eligible but must be re-nominated to be included in the nominee pool.
• Sage Publications/RMD/Lawrence R. James Early Career Award: This award recognizes scholars who have made distinguished contributions to research methods research, practice, education, and service during the early stages of their careers. For the 2026 award, eligible nominees must have received their PhD no earlier than 2019.
• Sage Publications/Robert McDonald Advancement of Organizational Research Methodology Award: This award recognizes an organization-related journal article or book chapter that has made a significant contribution to research methodology. For the current award cycle, eligible works must have been published between January 2020 and December 2024.

RMD awards are presented at the Division’s annual business meeting during the Academy of Management Annual Meeting. Thanks to the generous support of Sage Publications, each award includes formal recognition and a monetary prize.
